Coach Wright has achieved the highest level of accreditation by the National Federation of High Schools, being named a Certified Interscholastic Coach. He is a member of the National Youth Track Coaches Association as well as achieving Level 1 certification from USA Track and Field. He’s been Safesport trained and background checked and has been certified in CPR, sudden cardiac arrest and first aid. He is also a Positive Coaching Alliance Double Goal Coach, dedicated to producing athletes who are focused on improving themselves, their teammates and their sport.
He has a personal best high jump of 6’5” and has been involved in coaching athletes in multiple sports for decades. He coaches the jumps at Irvine High School and has helped many jumpers reach their potential. Club athletes under his guidance hold association and regional championships, have medaled at the California State Games and qualified for the USATF Junior Olympic National Finals.
Coach Wright views working with young athletes as a privilege and a great responsibility. His athletes know him as someone knowledgeable and passionate about the sport, caring and patient toward people and dedicated to producing improved results.
Cassidi is an assistant coach and will focus primarily on fitness and event specific mechanics. She is currently studying Kinesiology at Cal State Fullerton.
Connor is an assistant coach and will focus primarily on high jump, javelin and overall fitness. He is a former Irvine High Top Jumper and had a top 30 finish at the USATF Junior Olympics National Finals in Javelin.
